What is most important in your life? Where do these values come from?
I value my education very highly, which is something I have learned from my parents, who always pushed me to succeed academically. I also deeply care about my friends, which probably comes from when I lived far from family and could only rely on friends. Lastly, I want to be happy and successful in whatever career I choose to go into.
What do you do? What topics interest you?
Before coming to college, I rode horses for 7 years and had my own horse. I also lead my school’s UIL literary criticism team, so I’m obviously interested in literature. I also love to play video games and watch movies. I’m interested in environmental protection and international travel.
How would you describe yourself as a learner? What is your work ethic like?
I learn by watching and listening together, so I often watch educational videos. I also like to visualize things out so I use a whiteboard to draw out structures or equations. I have a strong work ethic and generally get stuff done on time, but I have had to work on time management and am still trying to get better at procrastination.
What are your strengths/talents and weaknesses/deficits?
I would say some of my strengths would be my independence and self-motivation. I can set goals and move towards achieving them. A weakness I have would be my skill at making friends, because often times, I will just prefer to be alone so I may not go out of my way to meet or talk to strangers. Additionally, I can be possessive of my stuff, rather than sharing or being generous.
